NC MedAssist is a nonprofit pharmacy program providing access to lifesaving prescription medications, patient support, advocacy and related services to poor, vulnerable, and uninsured North Carolina residents.
NC MedAssist seeks to ensure that no eligible person in North Carolina has to choose between purchasing food or their needed medication; improving the patient’s health and lowering uncompensated health care costs for all stakeholders.
NC MedAssist has made great strides since last year's Pancakes & Beer 5K, and the funds raised from this year's race will help us to
keep going! We are counting on the Pancakes & Beer 5K this
year more than ever. Our prescription medicine costs continue to rise and we need the
community’s support to keep our pharmacy stocked with the lifesaving medication
our patients need.
Your Return On Involvement!
NC MedAssist is a very efficient organization. Though expenses have grown 69% over four years, the growth in the value on medications dispensed has grown over 300%. That means we have been able to respond to the increase in demand for medications with minimal increase in expenses.
For every $1 donated $20 in donated medications is dispensed back to the community. Ninety percent of your investment goes directly to client services, and ten percent goes to administration and development. In fiscal year 17-18, with the help of the community, NC MedAssist dispensed over $63 million in free prescription medicines back to the community.
